Review: The Ghost Next Door

The Ghost Next Door
The Ghost Next Door by R.L. Stine

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Having been tricked twice by surprising and unpredictable endings, I thought I have prepared myself for the ending of this book. But I guess I haven’t done it very well or it is indeed because of the amazing ability of R.L. Stine to create surprising and unpredictable endings.

Hannah woke up from a nightmare where she and her family trapped in fire. It’s been a long and boring summer for her, until she meets Danny, a boy about her age who claims to live next door. But Hannah finds many strange things about him: he goes to the same school and in the same grade like she, but she hasn’t ever meet him in the school or know his friends, and Danny notices the same oddities. Not to mention a menacing and eerie shadow who tries to haunt her, and Danny always happens to be close by.

Until she finds out the truth: a truly sad and depressing one. But what has happened to her is destined to prevent someone to suffer the same fate.
